I just liked to share what i have on my cell phone.
It's a blend from the original MIDI files of the output of Virtual MIDI Synth using the Fatboy soundfont and the output of Munt using the MT-32toGM (by my called GM@MT, Roland's naming is very confusing) emu sysex and a couple of altered MIDI where i joined a couple of tracks to reach the maximum of 8 for the MT. I think one can't get much more out of the original MIDI files.
The rest of what it is belongs to Robert Prince, what you hear is in the files, the use of a more recent technology is only a polishing. I say this because you rarely hear such great guitars in MIDI mostly they sound shit no matter what soundfont i use, Robert Prince managed it to let it sound like guitars it's not as much the soundfont i used. Even if that plays a role too. The sound of Munt (i can't tell how close it is to a real MT-32) is well saturated it sounds not as thin as the use of a soundfont, even 4GB of soundfont can't reach this saturation (while this specific font isn't good at all) but most instruments sound artificial especially strings, horns and wind instruments (which we haven't here) on the other hand very good. But mixed with an output of a soundfont it becomes almost ideal. I stumbled over this more occasionally when i had two exports of a Bach composition open in Audacity and played both at once, "sounds pretty good".
