1Trying Super Arabian for Famicom, in the emulator Mesen in Windows!
Was trying to get through the four stages without resorting to save states for a while, and uhhhhh... Huzzah for save states! = D [_[ ; D

Don't like Donkey Kong stage 2. Don't like ie can't handle Super Arabian stage 3. Don't like having to collect the letters in the prescribed word-unscramble order if I don't want my score to suck. Also, the music is really bad.
The controls/physics are janky (OH the buttons are in the wrong order: jump isn't on the SMB jump button = oooooo so I have to like change my input setting each time because Mesen doesn't have per-game input maps garr) and that does not help my temper when getting rammed off the fourth tier of stage 3 by that super-fast carpet.
A/B on the title screen change the loop you start on. In later loops--at least by loop 8--the letter bags show just "?" until you touch them, and they only pick up in the correct unscrambled word order...which is kind of nice actually for those of us who can't unscramble words especially while dodging crows and weird super germs or whatever, I mean that's a good excuse right--except it would also mean you'd have to do the carpet jumping bits of stage 3 multiple times maybe and that would be...well I guess for me it's a moot point 'cause I can't get to the top of them even once!
Booting the critters is fun, at least.
...Oh heck, there's a vine handhold and vine going up right at the left side of the left platform on the super-fast carpet level of stage 3, according to this super play I just watched. Hard to see those vines, dang.
But then stage 4 is more carpet jumping, have fun with that!
I'd rather play Frogger. And that frog didn't have to spell!

(Okay I went back and save-scummed stages 3 and 4, wheeeeeooo.) (That's about all the fun to be had save-scumming this I suppose, unless you're just out to prove you can do all the spelling in all 8(?) loops of the otherwise same four stages.)
(Also, it tells you the word to descramble and collect-in-order right at the start of each stage, in the upper right! And it's NOT always animals! OH.)
(Judging from videos, in the original arcade game, Arabian, the vertical movement is jerky but the main character is smaller and more nimble, and the carpets are much slower. And the music is totally different--like folk tune "Turkey in the Straw" type stuff; maybe they chucked that in favor of the new, very bad single short tune in Super Arabian 'cause they thought there might be copyright problems with the other stuff.)
