I enjoy playing old PC games that I never had the chance to experience back in the day. It allows me to feel like I'm living in the '90s, immersing myself in the world of 3D gaming from that era. However, many of these '90s games do not run on modern operating systems, requiring modifications to make them compatible with new computers.

Additionally, these games typically only ran at 30fps, which I find difficult to tolerate. To truly enjoy the games, I often replace files with DirectX components and edit various text files. I also upgrade texture files to high-resolution 4K textures, apply new lighting effects, incorporate ray tracing and improved reflections, and enhance the field of view etc. By combining all these modifications, I essentially remaster the games to modern standards while preserving their original aesthetics.

One of my first experiences with Unreal Tournament '99 was very positive, and I can understand the hype surrounding this game back in the day.
