13Today's ROM hack is Tiny Variety World, a collection of three infuriatingly-hard levels with pretty cool themes. They are as interesting and unique as they are frustrating and annoying.
This hack should have a sweet intro to explain itself, but after recording it I realized that a 6 minute intro before the game starts isn't going to make the video any better, so it was scrapped. It even held up the video for about four days while I recorded it and fit it in, but then I didn't even use it. In a desperate attempt to justify my wasted time, I've uploaded it as a secret video I don't suggest anyone watches. I mean, the reason I took it out is because it was too long and not very interesting, so if you watch it and don't like the experience, it's kind of your fault. You've been warned.

As a text recap of the intro that never was, I'll say this is another game from the vault. I recorded it a long time ago, about a year and three months ago now.
The reason it was never uploaded is because I get really salty at some point. I'm almost positive it's the second video that breaks my will to go on, but we will have to wait and see. When this was first recorded, I didn't really ever get salty on video before, so I held back on releasing it.
Well, time passes and people change, and I've come to realize I can't hide the saltiness when it wants to escape. I've been playing much harder hacks than this since then, and sometimes they're frustrating. I don't think there's really anything wrong with that. I try to keep the videos light and upbeat, but if a part of the gameplay is making me not enjoy myself, that's something that needs to be commented on. The original point of this series was to give feedback to people creating hacks as if they were official Nintendo games bought at a store, and if it's incredibly annoying to replay parts over and over because your levels are too long with an uncentered checkpoint, well that's just the way it is. Embrace the saltiness.
I miss you all. Hope you're doing well out there. It's been a hell of a long time since I last uploaded and that makes me sad. I'm killing it on the overtime front at least, and hopefully this won't keep happening for much longer. I just want it to be over so I can have my free time back finally. Soon!

Squiggy's ROM Hack Romp is a series on Super Mario World ROM Hacks. In this series, I will play through SMW ROM Hacks that are submitted to me and that I pull off smwcentral.net. I'll always play the submitted ones first though! Ideally, I will use no save states and do full commentary playthroughs.
