2 Fabiola is a Belgian Eurodance group formed in 1991 by Patrick Claesen, popularly known as Pat Krimson, and Oliver Adams.
The group’s name was inspired by Queen Fabiola of Belgium, reflecting a quirky and creative approach to their identity. Initially, the group consisted of Pat Krimson, who handled production and keyboards, and Zohra, who became the lead vocalist and frontwoman.
Zohra, a charismatic performer known for her unique stage presence, contributed not only her vocal talents but also her skills as a dancer, incorporating belly dancing and even nunchaku performances into their live shows.
Before founding 2 Fabiola, Pat Krimson had already established himself in the music industry, working as a DJ and producer for various projects such as Leopold 3 and Ravebusters. His experience in dance music production laid the foundation for 2 Fabiola's success.
The group’s first major success came with the release of "Play This Song" in 1994.

The single became an instant hit, topping the charts in Spain and achieving significant success in Italy and other European countries. The track’s catchy melody and infectious rhythm quickly made it a staple of the Eurodance genre.
Following this, 2 Fabiola released "Lift U Up" in 1996, a track that dominated the Belgian charts for five weeks and earned them a gold record. The song also gained acclaim across Europe, solidifying their reputation as one of the leading Eurodance acts of the 1990s.
Their music combined high-energy beats, melodic hooks, and Zohra’s powerful vocals, creating a signature sound that resonated with dance music fans.
During this period, the group became known for their extravagant live performances. Zohra’s dynamic stage presence, combined with theatrical elements such as go-go dancers and elaborate choreography, made their shows a spectacle. Fabio Ponenté, a dancer who was part of the group during their early years, contributed to their visual appeal until his departure in 1997.
In 1996, they released their debut album, "Tyfoon," which included hits such as "I’m On Fire" and "Universal Love." The album further cemented their place in the Eurodance scene and showcased their versatility, with tracks ranging from high-energy dance anthems to ballads.
After achieving significant success, the group went through several lineup changes. Zohra left the group to pursue a solo career as a singer and DJ.
She was replaced by other vocalists, but the subsequent releases failed to replicate the commercial success of their earlier hits.
By the late 1990s, Pat Krimson shifted his focus to other projects, including the group Nunca, while 2 Fabiola’s activity slowed down. After releasing a few less successful singles, the group went on hiatus in the early 2000s.
In 2007, Pat Krimson revived 2 Fabiola with a new lineup. Australian singer Katie Michaelson joined as the lead vocalist, and the group released the single "Straight To The Top," marking their return to the music scene.
Over the next few years, they continued to release new music, including "Blow Me Away" and "She’s After My Piano," which became a hit in Belgium.
The new lineup featured Loredana De Amicis and Viola Furleo, who brought fresh energy to the group. 2 Fabiola also began performing at nostalgic 1990s-themed events, where their classic hits continued to resonate with audiences.
2 Fabiola remains one of the most iconic Eurodance acts to emerge from Belgium. Their ability to blend catchy melodies, high-energy beats, and theatrical performances made them a standout group in the 1990s dance music scene. Tracks like "Play This Song" and "Lift U Up" are still celebrated as classics of the genre.
The group’s influence extends beyond their music, as their extravagant style and innovative performances set a standard for live dance music shows. Despite lineup changes and industry challenges, 2 Fabiola has maintained a loyal fan base and continues to perform, reminding audiences of the vibrant energy of Eurodance.
