Raver's Nature is a German music project that emerged in the early 1990s, inspired by the wave of acid house music flowing into Germany from England in the late 1980s.
The group was founded in 1990 by three young musicians:
MARKUS "ROY" STRÖBEL,
PETER LUFT* (KNOWN AS PEDRO FERRARI),
AND RALF LINDNER (KNOWN AS JOHN BOGOTA).
Each member of the group brought unique experiences and skills to the project, which became the foundation of their musical success.
MARKUS "ROY" STRÖBEL: a hospitality manager by education, who had been passionate about electronic music for years.
PETER LUFT (PEDRO FERRARI): an economist involved in wholesale trade, who had been interested in DJing since his youth.
RALF LINDNER (JOHN BOGOTA): a specialist in sound production on Amiga computers, who previously created soundtracks for computer games.
All three met at the "LA MONZA" club in Hof, where Roy and Pedro worked as DJs, playing various styles of dance music such as acid house, hip-hop, and italo house.
In the same club, they met Ralf, who quickly joined their project as a producer.
The first tracks of Raver's Nature were created in the early 1990s, but initially, no record labels showed interest in them. In response to the difficulties in releasing their music, the group decided to act independently. In 1991, they self-produced, pressed, and distributed their first single titled "Spirit of Tekknology". It was their first step toward independence in the music industry.
Soon after, Roy Ströbel established new connections in the music scene, which resulted in the creation of the BASH label, one of whose first releases was another single by Raver's Nature. Thanks to this, the group gained the opportunity to perform live, including at events like the Love Nation Party in Berlin in 1993.
A breakthrough moment in Raver's Nature's career was their collaboration with the Low Spirit label in 1993, which opened the door to a wider audience. In 1994, the group performed at two major Mayday events: "Rave Olympia" and "Raving Society." Their single "Take Off!" achieved significant success, reaching the 27th spot on the German charts. Another track, "Stop Scratchin'," also gained recognition, securing the 34th spot.
In the same year, the group won the Camel Move Award in the category of "Best Live Performance" and was nominated for the VIVAwards in 1995. Their first studio album, titled "La Monza," was released at the end of 1995. The album featured tracks like "Bring Me Noise," which also charted.
In 1997, Raver's Nature returned with a new single, "You Blow My Mind," which introduced an entirely new sound to their work. The track combined heavy, pulsating basslines with an experimental approach to melodies, marking a departure from their earlier, more classic rave style.
In "You Blow My Mind," the group embraced more progressive and modern sounds that were ahead of their time. The use of new music production technologies, such as advanced synthesizers and samplers, allowed them to create a unique atmosphere.
