RétroGaming 2.0 ;0)Presents you "2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge" is a four-player ice hockey video game developed by Midway as an arcade title in November 1995. The game features 26 NHL teams, over 100 players, Chicago Blackhawks longtime announcer Pat Foley, and a gameplay style that can be best described as similar to the over-the-top play of Midway's own NBA Jam. Much like its hardcourt predecessor, Open Ice includes a number of secret characters, including dozens of Midway staff and hockey legend Gordie Howe, all without helmets. It is the first and only hockey game where players can use the licensed versions of Mr. Howe and Wayne Gretzky together on the same team.

Playstation
In 1996, the game would be released for the Sony PlayStation. The game would be similar to its arcade counterpart with exception to the fact that the Winnipeg Jets moved to Phoenix after the conclusion of the 1995-96 season, thus the Phoenix Coyotes replaced the Jets in the Playstation port.

PC
In 1997, the game would be released for the PC, and features the same roster and teams as the Playstation version.

RétroGaming 2.0 ;0) Vous présente "2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge"est un jeu vidéo de hockey sur glace à quatre joueurs développé par Midway comme titre d'arcade en novembre 1995. Le jeu dispose de 26 équipes de la LNH, de plus de 100 joueurs, l'annonceur de Longime de Longime de Chicago Blackhawks, et un style de jeu qui peut être mieux décrit comme similaire à celui Le jeu sur-le-dessus de la propre confiture de NBA de Midway. Tout comme son prédécesseur Hardcourt, la glace ouverte comprend un certain nombre de personnages secrets, notamment des dizaines de personnel de Midway et de la légende de hockey Gordie Howe, toutes sans casques. C'est le premier et unique jeu de hockey où les joueurs peuvent utiliser les versions agréées de M. Howe et Wayne Gretzky ensemble sur la même équipe.
