Unseen projects and funny footage leftover from 2022. Some projects went on to become better things, some were abandoned, and others are being carried over to 2022.

Project list in order of appearance:

0:00 Whisper Of The Wild
Inspirations include Breath of the Wild (duh) and Studio Ghibli film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Aimed to be an open world adventure-survival game where small changes in the environment are indicators of incoming massive events, if you know how to read the messages of the land.

0:29 Stone Lake Temple(?)
DON’T LET HIM SEE YOU: [redacted].

0:46 Be Here Now / 3d I-Spy
Read the riddles and try to find the object described. Inspired by 2-d I-Spy games I played on my Windows 95 as a kid. I created this with the intention to try and get players to actually LOOK AT and APPRECIATE the virtual world.

Music: Puddles by Jordy Chandra & Jay-Lounge

1:24 Metroid Prime Remix
Created this in 1 hour as a flex of my God given UE4 talent. One day I would love to recreate all of my favourite childhood games with my own spin.

Music: Bleep Bloop Bleep by Ben Hunt

2:11 Skyborg
After I finally came to terms with the fact that my current project was crushing my soul, I built this prototype in a single day in a creative frenzy. Wanted to experiment with fast movement and experimental non-linear controls and platforming mechanics (i.e. your speed and held input time affects the parameters of the abilities). Playing it feels a little like playing a musical instrument, and less like a fixed set of abilities on rails.

Music: Fireflies (Funk Fiction Remix) by Nikki Simmons

3:25 Fear, Food, Loyalty
[redacted]

3:43 Real-Time Multiplayer Pokemon
One of my gripes with pokemon games is the missed opportunity to show what pokemon can do in real-time 3d battles. This was a playable multiplayer prototype I knocked up in a couple of hours.

3:57 Choice
Music: Some shit by me

4:18 The Denizens
This was later redone and titled “Emera: City Of The Sky." I love the aesthetic of the palm trees, shiny metal objects, and rubies all floating around and coexisting in the sky under lush rays of light.

5:59 The Bornless
A multiplayer horror FPS with NFTs and other web3 technology I co-founded with a friend in late 2021. I developed the game up to a playable alpha, and after we got money in the door and was able to hire full-time developers I was able to back off and work on more of my own projects. Footage shown here is some of the weirder shit I had left lying around on my computer.

6:50 Ancient Ocean
An abandoned prototype of an open world ocean exploration game, inspired by Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker, which was one of my favourite games growing up. Loved the weird twist of the ancient metallic structures, mysterious technology, and UFOs. Will definitely explore this theme more going forwards.

Music: Chopin Nocturne in B Flat Minor, Op. 9 No. 1

10:47 myFirstTrailer.exe

10:57 AI Assistant Lucy
Enemy concept idea, demo in the Skyborg engine.

Music: In Too Deep from Lost Temple Treasure (me)

11:19 Eco Ronin: Infinite
Endless world algorithm I built, shown at night time with my brother Noah playing lol. The endless world has biomes with unique enemies and items. You can build on the tiles too, and changes are saved permanently. I wanted to build a Minecraft-like endless the world, but with the graphical capabilities of Unreal Engine, and the movement and combat of a game like Breath of the Wild.

11:55 Eco Ronin: Celestial Trial
A 3d platformer action game inspired by notoriously difficult 2d platformer Celeste, and the movement mechanics of Breath of the Wild.

Music: Bleep Bloop Bleep by Ben Hunt

12:40 Eco Ronin: Redstone Temples
Inspired by classic Zelda temples. Some of my favourite work from Eco Ronin.

Music: Redstone by Jackson Nexhip

13:04
Eco Ronin: Hardcore
A randomly generated map shown from above. I love this game so much. It’s so damn hard lol and the shopkeeper Pasqualdo is my favourite. This game is basically Spelunky but in 3d, with Breath of the Wild or Nier Automata movement mechanics. Hardcore mode is shown in the second clip where the mannequin is red; faster, permadeath, and the enemies are basically on crack.

13:50 Running Robot Man 4
My current project as of posting this video. This is some exclusive unseen footage lol not sure where this game is going but I’m loving it so much.

15:15 Running Robot Man 4: Roguelike Dungeons
Players enter a randomly generated dungeon as a team and search for treasure while platforming over lava and fighting/evading monsters. I am planning to release this game on Steam in 2023.
Feels like every game I have made in my whole development career has been leading up to this project, and I finally feel like I am ready and have the skills to make the game I have been dreaming of.
