2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition: Start Up, Test Drive, Walkaround, POV and Review
120👋 In todays review we check out this 2022 Rivian R1T Launch Edition! This model is finished of in launch edition green and is a fully electric pickup truck with over 800 horsepower and 900 pound feet of torque! The exterior design on this Rivian is very futuristic, especially with the headlight design! Some exterior features that I like are the charging port and the steps to access the gear tunnel! It's also great to see the ride height adjustability so if you want to take this off the pavement, you have the ground clearance to do so! The interior quality on this Rivian is actually very nice! All the materials are top notch and it feels like a luxury truck! The driving experience is nice, for a heavy vehicle, it drives smooth and handles well!
I was able to talk to an owner of a Rivian afterwards and they mentioned a few things about this truck from their ownership experience. First was towing. This person mentioned that even with a 3K pound trailer, the Rivian sways and isn't the best. They were not impressed with the towing of this truck even with the claimed 11K pound capacity. The other was offroad, and that small trails or flat surface is about it. I guess the modulation of the wheels and articulation needs to be worked on!
The range on this Rivian though is a plus, over 300 miles is pretty good especially for the weight of it!
Aside from those complaints, the 2022 Rivian R1T is a cool electric truck! It's a great option compared to the other electric pickups available, however the one big downside I see, is that unless you have access to test drive one and check it out, you are ordering and buying the truck site unseen, so do as much research as you can on the truck! The Rivian has a lot of storage as well and is still a good usable pickup!
