2023 Nissan Z Performance 6 Speed Manual: POV Mountain Drive! Exhaust Audio
91👋 We have the all new 2023 Nissan Z Performance and it's time to hit the mountain roads and test this sportscar to the limit! The 2023 Nissan Z packs a 400 HP twin turbo V6 and rear wheel drive. This Performance Z has the 6 speed manual with sport mode and we test out the handling and power delivery on the twisty back roads! Overall the new Nissan Z is pretty good! There is a bit of extra weight compared to the 370Z. 200 pounds to be exact. And 100 pounds heavier than the Supra. So you feel a bit of body sway in the hard turns. The suspension is a tad soft for our liking and wish it had adaptive active damping. But it was pretty composed absorbing bumps well and maintaining traction at all times (with one slip up lol, but handled well). Steering was pretty good and never felt vague. Power is awesome! Very smooth power delivery from the 3.0L V6 twin turbo and is just climbs in speed. It honestly doesn't feel like a turbo engine. Very smooth revving like the old VQ. Seems like the 6 speed transmission can ring out gears very nicely so we didn't feel like we had to constantly shift the transmission. We also did this same test in the automatic Z, and that was fun to drive as well, but the manual is so much more engaging with this car! Overall the Z seemed confident and fun to drive in the mountains! Supra is a bit faster and more nimble, but the new Z has a more open feel for the interior and you can easily pin point the car with that good of visibility. I think the new Z will need upgraded suspension to have the same nimble characteristics of the Supra, but I think either lowering springs or coilovers will do the trick! We also liked how smooth the Z drives and how it doesn't beat you up. Such a fun car!! Be sure to check out the rest of the content surrounding this Z and the automatic Z we had for a week!
