The Tesla Model 3 Highland, an upgraded version of the popular electric vehicle, has been officially launched in North America. This refreshed model introduces a host of enhancements, both in terms of design and functionality. The exterior of the Model 3 Highland features a new front fascia and more streamlined taillights, improving the car's aerodynamic efficiency with a drag coefficient of 0.219. This makes it one of the most aerodynamic vehicles, closely following the Tesla Model S.

In terms of interior design, the Model 3 Highland offers a completely revamped cabin. It includes color-changing ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and a quieter environment due to the use of acoustic glass. A significant update is the introduction of a new steering wheel and a refreshed center screen. Rear passengers now enjoy their own screen for controlling climate and entertainment features, enhancing the overall passenger experience.

Performance-wise, the Model 3 Highland is available in two variants: the base Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) and the Long Range Dual Motor All Wheel Drive. The RWD version offers an EPA estimated range of 272 miles, a top speed of 125 mph, and a 0-60 mph time of 5.8 seconds. The Long Range AWD variant increases the range to 341 miles per charge, maintaining the same top speed but with a faster 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds.

The pricing for the Model 3 Highland starts at $38,990 for the base RWD version and $45,990 for the Long Range AWD version. Notably, the Model 3 Performance version is not currently listed on the updated vehicle's order page. Tesla also offers various customization options, including different color and wheel choices, at additional costs.

Furthermore, Tesla has enhanced the Model 3's suspension, wheel hubs, and brakes to provide a more compliant ride with less noise and vibration, directly addressing some of the main criticisms of the previous model. The Model 3 Highland also comes standard with Basic Autopilot, with the option to upgrade to Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving Capability for an additional cost.

Overall, the Model 3 Highland represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, focusing on improvements in aerodynamics, interior comfort, and ride quality, while retaining its position as a leading choice in the electric vehicle market. Orders for the new Model 3 are currently being taken, with deliveries expected to begin in late January or early February 2024.
