2048 is a free block puzzle game that was released in 2014 by Gabriele Cirulli.

It was released as freeware which is why there are so many clones of the game in the Apple store and Google Play store.

There are lots of other variations of the game. I recommend downloading the official game out first and then trying the different versions if you enjoy it.
