『鉄拳3』における仁の人物紹介ですでにその存在が示唆されており、『鉄拳3』、『鉄拳4』のエンディングにおいてその姿を見せている。
『鉄拳5』、『鉄拳5DR』のCPU戦で、最終ボス三島仁八の前に登場する中ボス的存在兼プレイアブルキャラクターとして登場。第4回鉄拳大会後、風間仁の精神が崩壊してしまい完全にデビル化してしまった「もしも」の姿である。『鉄拳6』でも『鉄拳5』と同様の設定で登場する。『鉄拳4』までの外見からデザインが若干変更されるとともに、暴走、狂気キャラクターという位置付けになった。
『鉄拳4』で格闘スタイルが変わった仁とは別に『鉄拳3』、『鉄拳TT』時の仁を復活させた形である。父親の三島一八と違い、自分の意志でデビル化しているわけではなく制御もできない。『鉄拳5』の風間飛鳥のエンディングにおいては、彼女の力によりデビル化が収まっている。『鉄拳タッグトーナメント』『鉄拳タッグトーナメント2』では母親である準の力により元の姿に戻った。
映画『鉄拳 BLOOD VENGEANCE』では理性を失うことなく、ゲームとは全く異なるデザイン（竹谷隆之造形）で登場する。
『ストリートファイター X 鉄拳』のムービーや必殺技では、仁がデビル仁に豹変する演出がある。
『ソウルキャリバーV』のクリエイションでは選択できる流派の一つとして「デビル仁」が存在する。
パチスロ版においてはデビルの宿敵として登場。また、パチンコ版にも登場し、仁がデビル化すると問答無用で勝利すなわち大当たりが確定し、敵を圧倒的な容赦ない攻撃でメッタ打ちにする様子が描かれる。
『鉄拳7FR』では、国連軍の部隊に回収される際に着せられた拘束服と首輪、鎖が巻きついた姿で登場。

Jin Kazama (Japanese: 風間 仁, Hepburn: Kazama Jin) is a character of the Tekken fighting game series created by Bandai Namco Entertainment (Formerly Namco). He was introduced as the protagonist in the 1997 game Tekken 3 and has been the central character of the series from that game onwards. Trained by his grandfather Heihachi Mishima, Jin wishes to avenge the apparent death of his mother Jun Kazama by Ogre. However Jun was not actually dead she was missing, meanwhile Heihachi betrays Jin to awaken a genetic abnormality within his body known as the Devil Gene (Japanese: デビルの血, Hepburn: Debiru no Chi, lit. "Devil's blood").

He is also antagonized by his father, Kazuya Mishima, from whom he inherited the devil gene. While dealing with his relatives, Jin loses control of the Devil Gene, which causes his transformation into an alter ego named Devil Jin, first introduced as a non-playable character in Tekken 3 and playable ever since Tekken 5. Outside of the video games, Jin has appeared in the animated and live-action films adapted from the games and have also appeared as a playable character in several other game franchises.

Initially conceptualized as an innocent man, Jin was developed as the series' new protagonist and a replacement for Kazuya, who he was based on visually. His constant fights with his family members would eventually lead him to become an antiheroic character, as crafted by Bandai Namco's director Katsuhiro Harada ever since his introduction. Nevertheless, Jin was portrayed as the main character from multiple adaptations of the games. He has been voiced consistently by Isshin Chiba since he debuted in Tekken 3 and has had multiple English actors across other appearances.

Critical reception to the character has been positive, with commentary focused on his moves and his role within the wider Tekken story. Since his introduction in Tekken 3, Jin has proven to be quite popular and has often been described as one of the best Tekken characters due to his fighting style and because of the impact he had on the storyline. His dark characterization was also noted while Devil Jin also remained popular for retaining Jin's classic fighting style called Mishima ryu karate which he discarded since Tekken 4.
