25Nov-05Dec 2021. [...] Explaining Tech Issues. Video Content Making A Personal History W. Video.
Thank you all for coming to my channel and supporting me.
I'm a technician who is more familiar behind the scenes, rather than publicaly.
Mine is a technical/Engineering-based perspective on atmospheric electro-magnetics in general, with a focus on Schumann resonances. I intend these videos to be educational, as well as fun, within what the subject matter allows. I've been dedicating my talents, skills, experiential training towards explaining, in common terms, some highly technical, and well-misunderstood concepts.
In most cases, I depend upon published reports and research of well-known, noted researchers, field scientists. The majority of what I've done content upon has been published, and is within the public's domain.
I am at the point in my pathway, where alot of people are, quite recently (within the past year, perhaps), where a direction in life is changed. I'm continuously relating the material to Schumann Resonances, of course, yet, the base material is changing.
Among other things, I was suggested to talk on a more personal basis, of my experiences with radio, television, broadcasting, computer networking, making and repairing pcs, configuring audio-video capture systems;
In the case of this particular one, I'm waxing nostalgic for my first "modern computer".
By "modern computer", I mean that if you do not know what an IBM486, or DOS, or Commodore is, then you only know a "modern computer," and this is a wide latitude. Some people are only familiar with handheld communicators, and apps. Some folks legitimately do not know what an actual computer is. They may only be familiar with the operating system, AS the computing machine.
I discuss the process of making video somewhat, from my personal perspective.
I learned Adobe Premiere 5 on a Gateway P5-90 tower computer. It was massive, and slower than the pony express, but it generally get the job done, after I upgraded the hardware. My ex- and I got the machine at an auction, for 150, with the printer, and gear. That was in 1999. My first finished video was 2000.
As I've been making these shorts, it's been getting me nostalgic for the times that I was with my ex- working on projects, and he was giving me alot of support, and expert tips on design, and aesthetics.
Rich, my ex-, was a really sharp, super smart guy who just read all sorts of stuff, especially about behind-the-scenes, of movies. We shared an interest in these kinds of things. We had a great time working together. He was the manager of The Booksm1th, in New London. Eventually, he bought the store, and was fairly successful at it, before the mall construction killed the business, but whatever...
So, there was just a wealth of book-smarts, which I didn't have in these areas. He would get all sorts of advanced copies, and has a great book collection on design principles, etc.
His advice, and critiques were absolutely on point, and was just second to none. His help was invaluable to me, to this day.
I can't give him enough credit for all that he did to support me in my work, doing the videos.

I learned desktop publishing on an Apple Mac IIe, in 1987-8, while at Mitchell College, in New London, while working on a communications degree (AS) I was Associate Editor of the school news publication, The Thamesana. It used Quark Express; However, we still did the layout and mock-up by hand, using the QMS laser printer.

Future Me Introduction.
Even though this series of shorts is officially completed, I'm creating another one, intended to be used as an introduction to the full-length video.
I've had some chance to assess what I've done, so I wanted to redress a few things.
I am going to do a stand-alone video about the precession of the equinoxes, relative to the Tower Of Babel and the Phoenecians.
There was number of things I'd said which were not correct...meaning I couldn't validate the information as given.
I needed to do this one to correct a few incorrect things I stated.
