Cult of personality.
Technicians have a demeanor and interaction among ourselves, as we work on the problem, and bounce potential situations/solutions off one another. The folks who work on the actual real-world technical equipment, such as the antenna and detecting hardware have a language and lexicon that depends on actual hands-on experience.
When the technician explains to a customer the nature of the problem, the customer does not want a song and dance. The customer (you) want a clear, simple explanation of what is the problem, and what can be done to fix it.
This comes from my personal experience, on both sides of the desk. Technicians are terrible salespeople, because they don't have a monetary interest in your decision of what you purchase. We don't have a song and dance, because we give you a physical illustration of how it works; which is usually an at-the-car walk-through. The "song and dance" is physically giving you the visual representation of how the technical process works.
But what do we do when we lose you attention as we explain how the process works?
We simply want your problem solved, in the most efficient manner possible. The technician would, perhaps, like to improve your understanding of the process, so you are aware of the individual parts, and how the system(s) work(s).
The Technician wants you to take care of your property, your car, your phone, your whatever technical thing. We don't like to fix broken things. We like to do the periodic maintenance on a thing that keeps it operating optimally. This is why I take care of my property to the best of my ability. I want it to operate in the most tip-top condition. Accidents can't be avoided, true. Yet, what's coming from accident, and what problems are coming from ignoring the warning signs that something's wrong?
I approach the discussion on schumann resonances the same way. I'm a technician, and always been one. I feel it's simply better to give you the facts, and data, and you can decide for yourself, the best, most optimal application for the facts.
Yet, humans need the song and dance...somewhere, in the successful transmission of data, in order for it to be meaningful, and stick around for the long-term.
The disney-side, "Ascension-based" version has the necessary amount of song and dance, and fun colors to keep the humans interested; despite the lack of science and actual technical facts.
Lots of phrases describe this process: the 'shuck and jive', the 'okee-dokee', '3 card monte', 'bait and switch', bamboozled, shanghaied, 'you been duped,' and on it goes. It exact number of phrases of how humans are swindled could be limitless.
This is boilerplate Piscean-age antics.
