Should you keep your system on 24/7 or turn it on and off?

The responsible, energy saving thing to do is to put your system into a sleep mode. I personally put my systems into sleep when I'm not using them. Leaving your system on 24/7 means that you can instantly have access to it. Also, turning your system on and off will degrade components, shortening their lifespan. Although since we upgrade/replace our systems every year or two, that's not really a concern.
