The dozen mines around the city of Phoenix fed the biggest smelter in the country. For 20 years two railways ran 24 hours a day, 7 days a week hauling ore 3,000 tons a day. The town had 17 bars open 24 hours a day! All that is left 100 years later is the underground mines. Check out the most awesome mine you will ever see. The first of many segments.
