3 EASY Ways of Mixing Sci-Fi into D&D| GM 911

I'm working on a homebrew setting for some new players. Without going into a ton of detail, my plan is to mix typical fantasy with some modern elements.
The idea being that there was an ancient civilization that fell and out of the ruins a new society was born and is currently stuck in what we would consider medieval times. There are guilds and industry built around salvaging the ruins and hobbling technology together for the betterment or detriment of everyone.
Hydroponic gardens and farms with drones doing the brunt of the labor. Church of Erathis weighs heavily on the decisions of government. The few lone refuges of cities are a bastion against the hordes of monsters in the wastes.
Think, Eberron meets Dark Sun....but less sand, it gets everywhere.
Anyways, my real question is; How do I mix in modern elements without them being extremely overpowered?! In my head-cannon, lasers and teleporters exist in the world. For all intents and purposes people treat them as magical items. My thought was to limit ammunition and make them extremely rare and/or expensive...but there's always that one rogue in the party... Or is a laser rifle just a longbow reskinned and it does force damage instead of piercing?!
