[3] Let's Play Factorio - Tier 1 Science
9Alright, we're officially past the punch-trees-get-wood phase. Mostly. The point is, our main setup is in place and we can thus begin making our actual, you know, factory. This naturally starts with automated science production.
Heartless, soulless machines knowing how to learn and grow without being dependent on humans? Just like heavy reliance on coal and oil industries, there's literally no way that can go wrong.
Honestly, in this game, the machines are your friend. We'll see that a lot more later, but even now, essentially the goal is to have everything done by machines. Rather than hand-craft a hundred runs of science beakers, expend the same effort to set up a system that will yield thousands of runs! And so on.
More than any many other games, Factorio can be a tad intimidating at first because you need to think, and reason, and problem solve, and do practical engineering stuff.
