Trying to test out button combination color code "cheats" listed on GameFAQs for Guilty Gear X on Dreamcast, then playing Survival mode with characters starting from the top left of the character selection screen: Potemkin, Sol-Badguy, and Baiken!
Turns out the color codes are completely WRONG! There are NO button combination color codes in GGX on Dreamcast! (I didn't fully realize this until I double-checked afterwards!) Each character has 5 colors to start with, chosen by picking them on the character selection screen with the five buttons: A,B,X,Y,Start.
THEN, according to the GGX color FAQ https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/dreamcast/340773-guilty-gear-x/faqs/18563 , you can unlock 5 more colors per character--by completing Survival mode--level 100!--with any character; once you've cleared Survival, you get the 5 new colors by holding any of the regular 5 buttons for a few seconds, again on the character selection screen (holding Y is Gold and Start is Shadow; the others vary).
Sooo all I gotta do is beat Survival mode. ; ) = ooo
