#308 Capcom vs. SNK 2 \\ Dreamcast \\ Claw single 1cc, Ryu/Sagat/Guile ratio 1cc + other modes/runs!
Playing a variety of modes and characters in Capcom vs. SNK 2 on Dreamcast! I even beat the game (and a boss!) in a few of them, without using any continues. : D
0:00 - start
0:30 - Game Option
1:10 - Arcade Mode - Single Match - Balrog (Claw)
19:10 - All Survival - Orochi Iori
22:53 - Inf. Survival - Rolento
27:26 - Ratio Match - Dhalsim, Chun-Li, Gouki (Akuma)
42:05 - Ratio Match - Todo, Hibiki, Rugal
54:05 - Ratio Match - Todo, Chun-Li, Rugal
59:05 - Ratio Match - Ryu, Sagat, Guile
1:22:35 - Ratio Match - Guile, Raiden, Kim
1:44:30 - considering characters
1:47:47 - wrap-up & what's next!
And I realized a few things:
- Probably gonna stick to Arcade ratio play mostly ; )
- Gonna mostly stick to 3 character teams, 1/1/2 ratio--unless it gets too easy!
- There are enough characters I don't really want to play that it becomes pretty inconvenient to try using the [?] random select function to generate a team. I was thinking while recording that I'd need to make a team-generating script to do it, like I have for other fighting games, but afterward it occured to me that maybe I could just use the waggle-the-stick-around-the-character-select-grid method I've been using for MvC2. ^)^ So I'll have to give that a shot.
- Since I'm not going to use [?], I can go ahead and unlock bosses and stuff and still save the game now--I'd been avoiding doing that because I didn't want the overpowered "shin" versions of the bosses messing up random selection.
- I'd been doing semi-random grooves, but started finding some of them weren't exciting me much anymore, so maybe I'll just stick to N Groove (not played here; I was reading up on the various grooves after recording) for the most part.
- Oh yeah I should probably keep a list of the characters I don't want to play so I'll remember:
Chun-Li
Dhalsim
Hibiki
I'd thought Balrog would be on there since I hate his looping through the air moves, but he's pretty fun and effective just clawing and jumping, apparently! : o
And Rolento being kinda slow-ish in this vs the screen-crossing jumps in SFA3U is weird!
