Here's one of the characters that convinced me to start doing these videos in the first place. My frustration from not being able to find footage of Lao, and his general obscurity anyway, led to start checking which fighting game characters you could find playthroughs of on youtube, and those which you couldn't. Needless to say, thoroughness has a tendency to get out of hand, and one of the characters which inspired me to do this just so happened to only get an upload after 300 videos. Woops. I prefer being thematic though, and that's not going to change.
So here he is, the rarest Fatal Fury character in existence, with one single, hidden appearance in a Fatal Fury game, with no other footage of him on youtube other than this, and very little known about him anyhow. He's also only available in 2-player mode, which is one of the most stupid decisions I've ever seen in a fighting game. A character only being available in one-player mode, I understand that. But there is literally no reason to not be able to play as Lao in one-player mode. Why not have him selected with the Option button instead of the B button? I just don't understand some design choices.
So what is Lao actually like? He's slow, isn't able to combo, and all his moves seem to have something to do with spirits, for some unknown reason. He's rather goofy as a character, actually, and seemingly something of a joke character giving his effeminate jumping and erratic moves. He's an okay character, but seemingly just meant to be an gimmicky anomaly for those who played 2-player. Not really that good, but still, good to have footage of him available at least.
