3307 Elite Dangerous - Thargoid FPS? Odyssey and Horizons Instancing Restriction
2,173Yesterday, Frontier announced details on how play between Elite Dangerous Odyssey and Horizons will function upon the expansion’s release. Previously, it was stated that Horizons and Odyssey players will not be able to instance with each upon planetary surfaces. Frontier have now expanded upon these details, and painted a clearer picture. In short, until the launch of the console version of Odyssey, if you are playing in Odyssey, you will not be able to instance with Horizons players anywhere, full stop.
The Thargoids have once attacked a variety of star systems, leaving multiple space stations in a damaged state. The locations of the attacks are very curious, as they have in the past been considered to be Thargoid territory. These areas of the Coal Sack Nebula, the California Nebula as well as the Pleadies star cluster. All of these regions have been expanded into by human colonies over the past few years.
