A piece of computer history: The famous 3Dfx graphics accelerator from 1996. The Voodoo 1 addon card did not only accelerate 3D games, it improved the render quality, increased resolutions - and somehow it felt like all other graphic card manufacturers were caught with their pants down! The Voodoo effect is real and is still present to this day - although 3Dfx, the company, is long gone.
