Firing up the classic 3DMark again, here we are with one of their newest benchmarks in the past couple years - the DirectX 12 / Vulkan API Overhead Benchmark Test. This synthetic attempts to see how low an API's overhead is so the system can make more and more drawcalls for greater geometric processing. It's more designed to compare instruction implementations like DirectX and Vulkan vs outright comparing different graphics cards, but it's still a neat test to run anyway to see if newer hardware makes a difference.
