DirectX 9.0c HDR Shader Model 3.0 Technology demo

This is an improved "Canyon Flight" Shader Model 2.0 demo from 3DMark05. It's longer, has new scenes and looks totally different.
The ending part from 3:24 still impresses me until this day and makes me wonder how little the lightning and shadows in modern games changed since this demo from 2005. Some new games even look worse than this (save texture and model quality). The part from 3:58 always had fps problems on my older hardware in 1280x1024 but GTX 1080 seems to have no problems with it even in 4K. Struggles in some other parts though (lots of antialiased particles probably) Ah, technology!
BTW. there is no flickering (!) in this video.
