4 Amazing Video Game System Startup Sounds Better Than Iced Coffee
There are some truly amazing sounds in the world of gaming. Some of them that are memorable, some that are classic, and some that are simply better than any others. Let's take a listen to four startup sounds for different video game systems and see how they sound, with help from our friends Jay from @SquarePegs and his wife Meredith, and Kris from @GameDadShow
Original Game Boy startup
One of the first startup sounds that many people were exposed to was the startup for the original Game Boy. It's distinctive little ting just let you knew that you were in for a new adventure and a world of fun. This startup went so far as to be available on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP when you launched a Game Boy game.
Xbox One
The startup woosh on the Xbox One has been carried over to the Xbox Series S & X, and it's simple, basic, and effective. The wooshing sound lets you know immediately that, at least per Microsoft, greatness awaits. Simple in its design and execution, it easily gets the point across.
Nintendo Switch
Kind of like the Game Boy startup this one is just really simple and short and sweet, but it gets the point across right away. The click of the Joy-Con sliding into place again lets you know that your experience is about to begin and you're going to have an amazing time.
The Special GameCube startup sound
One of the things I love about this is every time that it starts up it reminds me of my good friends at @FamicomDojo as they use this as part of their intro to their videos. If you plug in four controllers and press the z button on all of them as you start up the system you can unlock this special audio cue. While many know about the audio cue if you do it with one controller, not many have heard the version with four.
