Game Hunting at VGMX The Nerd Emporium in Columbus, OH with Square Pegs & Gamedad
37Before we headed home after the 2024 CORGs Con in Columbus, Ohio, we went out to breakfast with @GameDadShow and @SquarePegs. After we were done, we headed over to a local store, VGMX The Nerd Emporium to do a little last minute game hunting before hitting the road. They had some really cool stuff, let's take a look!
They had a pretty nice sized store, with a good combination of card gaming and video gaming. They had stuff from Pokemon and Magic the Gathering, dice, D&D, along with tables for people to play at. That also had gaming stuff there dating back to the Atari 2600 and Intellivision forward to modern consoles like the Switch, PS5 & Xbox Series X.
One of the cool things is they did have a small selection of games from the Sega Master System. Our good friend @gabbothegiver loves the Shinobi series, so it made me happy to see something that I know he loves and something that would remind me of one of the best people I know.
They had a collection of video game related did and cereal boxes too, something that would be up @JohnRiggsalley. He loves all sorts of cereal, but if it involves video games even better. they had cereals and even Mac & Cheese with video game characters on them something I know he'd love.
Speaking of things I love, I'm an original Star Wars fan and love the old Kenner toys. I never had many when I was younger beyond figures, an X-wing and a Snow Speeder, but they had one of the coolest toys from the original movies there: An Imperial Lambda Shuttle! this was in great shape, not too discolored, and it gave me an opportunity to reference Revenge of the Nerds!
While I didn't buy anything, Kris made a large purchase, both in terms of dollar amount and physical size. This Horizon collector's set for the PS5 was pretty huge and really detailed. I'm not sure if a game was included or not, but the state was pretty cool looking.
Thanks to VGMX for letting us film and disturb their day for a little bit. There were a few things I would have liked to bring home, but I had to pass for now.
