This theme, originally composed for the Inn, is also used in the final game for the main menu. When Clouds and Darkside are installed on a computer at the same time, the main menu for Clouds of Xeen is replaced with a World of Xeen menu, which instead plays "New Bright Town" from the Darkside of Xeen soundtrack. Therefore, many people are not as familiar with this beautiful piece.

The original commission to Tim Tully reads: "Inn when you sign in, you save where you go training." & "Sign in, create, or delete new character, and add and remove from party. Need sign in music and inside (guy behind desk hands you pen.) Can use this for all the time, or have stuff for creating."

From this note, and because the "tavern" are "inn" are designated as two completely different places on the original commission, and the fact that no equivalent theme was commissioned for Darkside, it seems clear that the original concept was to have separate buildings for the tavern and inn, as was done previously in "Isles of Terra".

This track has been recorded using a real FM-TOWNS with an OPN2 soundchip by Kazuyuki Sakauchi. There are two versions of this soundtrack. The first version (A) is the original verison, playing only when one game in installed. If both Clouds and Darkside are installed on the same computer, an upgraded version of the soundtrack (B) replaces the original version (A). However, due to some sort of driver programming error, version A does not play correctly in the game itself (random instrumentation and other corruptions). Version X is the errored version.
