4th Edition D&D The Birth of Pathfinder| Editions of Dungeons and Dragons
4E really introduced some cool things to D&D that I greatly enjoyed. It also created WOTC strongest competitor Paizo and their Pathfinder game. 4th was a great edition of dungeons and dragons for bring new players in, but pushing older players away from the Wizard of the Coast RPGs. It is the most divisive of all the editions of Dungeons & Dragons. Our gaming group played it 4.0 for 18 months to 2 years before moving onto different rpg systems. A lot of the great elements of 4e have found their way into 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Heck some of the changes in 4th were even incorporated into Pathfinder.
