When cleaning up after someone suffering from Diogenes Syndrome; Don't be discouraged: You will get through it all. Yes, I've spend 5 days going over papers stacked waist high and am almost done (with that room!). My advice: Ensure you're going over all this when someone is still with you... Be kind, but be there when they are able to tell what's important for the family and their descendants (to know, have and own).
