1. 1. Stop Your MaBook from auto-boot every time the lid is lifted
To disable your Mac from starting up automatically when you lift the lid or connect it to the power, you type in the following command in the terminal:
sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00
In case you want to reverse the change, simply type in the following command in the terminal:
sudo nvram AutoBoot=%03
2. Re-enable the start up sound when you turn your MacBook on
To re-enable that cool start up sound when you turn on your MacBook, by just typing in the following command in the terminal:
sudo nvram BootAudio=%01
To reverse the change so that you can go back to the silent boot mode, type in the following command:
sudo nvram BootAudio=%00
3. Show Recently Accessed apps or documents directly on your Dock
Just copy and paste the this code here in the terminal:
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{"tile-data" = {"list-type" = 1;}; "tile-type" = "recents-tile";}'; killall Dock
4. Turn your Macbook into a Wifi repeater
In other words, you use your MacBook as both a Wifi extender and a new router for your other iOS or Android devices to access the same internet. I think this is the most needed trick that lots of people including myself are looking for. Let me make everything clear here. First, you need to understand the word Wifi repeater or extender, presumably for some of you who have little knowledge about IT stuff. A Wifi repeater or extender is when you want to extend your Wifi coverage area to be bigger or further from its original Wifi router. Another great thing about Wifi repeater is the fact that you can share Wifi that only your Macbook can access to other devices that are not allowed to access that Wifi because in some places, they allow only one device to connect their wifi. With this cool wifi repeater feature enabled on you MacBook, wherever you go, you don’t have to worry about your other devices being unable to connect to internet anymore.
5. Turn Picture in Picture mode while watching YouTube Videos
Just go to youtube…….. if you right-click one time on the video, you won’t see picture in picture mode feature, but if you right-click the second time, you will see picture in picture mode right there. Just click on it. Walla…. you now can watch youtube videos anywhere on your screen. And to move the video to anywhere you want, you need to click Command before you use the mouse to move the video. Otherwise, it will only snap at the corner of the screen.
