Bruhaspati is referred in Rugveda as a sage. But in the later texts written from 5th to 8th centuries, Bruhaspati is referred to as planet Jupiter. The descriptions of Jupiter in these texts match precisely with today's astrological observations. Tried to sync such knowledge (gathered from Wikipedia) with the concept of parayana.
