Warrant Officer 2 Allan Mason, affectionately known as "Perry", is 68 years old and has been working in the Royal Navy for 52 years, 40 of which he spent with the Submarine Service.

He began his career as Junior Marine Engineer Mechanic in 1968 at the age of 15.

Perry then went on to serve with HMS Valiant, Sceptre, Sovereign, Splendid, and Torbay.
