New "real or fake" everyday on my facebook. http://www.facebook.com/billschannel

When it comes to mystery pictures, nothing tops the pictures from the ocean. I can’t tell you the number of strange and wacky looking monsters and creatures I see every day in my inbox. Some of them are real and others are fake… But Here are the top 6 you guys have been asking me about.

Number 1 is this unidentified creature sent in by Givaldo Gunelson, Evan Murphy, Amber Zhoa and The Man from Sweden just to name a few.

Number 1

Guys, if you ever see one of these on the beach, check on ebay to see how the bidding is going because it not real… It’s a creation of Tampa’s wildest and craziest taxidermist Juan Cabana. Juan, who you might recall, was also the creator of the famous mermaid corpse found on a beach not far away. Both creations sold on e-bay to make Mr. Cabana’s imagination just a little bit richer.

Number 2

This two headed baby shark sent in by Raptorex who said it seems a little “Fishy.” Well, Raptorex there is no shortage of fishing looking sharks on the internet, but this one is real. It was turned over to scientists by a Florida fisherman and verified to be the world’s first documented case of a two headed bullshark. Scientists x-rayed it to verify the fish divided into parallel systems above the pectoral girdle resulting in two well-developed heads.

Number 3

Next we have this mysterious little number sent in by April Ridad, Holly Walker, and somebody who goes by this name…which I won’t even try to pronounce (Alahakoonge Don Sethsiri Pathum).

Guys, this is a Diplocaulus, or Hammerhead Salamander, that would probably make headlines if it was real… but it’s not unfortunately. These Boomerang headed guys haven’t been around for millions of years, except in the form of this artistic re-creation made in Japan a few years ago. The real ones grew up to be about a meter long, or about 3.3. feet! Perfect size for a pet or a pool party if you lived during the stone age.

Number 4

is this freaky looking fish sent in by Joel Angeles.. I didn’t have a clue about this one so I posted it on my facebook. That’s where reader Nathaniel Chaz Sarte first correctly identified it as “real!” It’s called an Armored Sea Robin… These are deep sea fish and related to the regular Sea Robin that does not have as much body armor.

Number 5

Our 5th mystery creature today is this open mouth little guy. It was sent in by Mr DisneyInfinity who wanted to know if it was a real fish. Disney, despite wide spread rumors that it is called a Coral Fish, this is not a fish. It’s actually a group of sea sponges that caught the attention of photographer Mauricio Handler while he was diving in the caribbean. Lot’s of people think this thing looks like the cookie monster from Sesame Street. But they also thought the same thing when Nasa first showed this picture of an impact crater on Planet Mercury.

Number 6

The last one today is this very mysterious creature first sent in by Vladimir Anatoly and George Antoniou… A tourist named Harvey Robertson says he accidently captured ocean monster off the coast of Greece. Some people think it’s a baby hippo, other a deformed manatee. Billschannel researcher Kyle darkova thinks we’re looking at the tale of dolphin that had it’s tale cut off . But considering no scientist has been able to determine exactly what this is, it must remain, a very rare, unknown, for the time being.

Ok, well, that’s it for this video. I want to thank everybody for sending in all those great shots… and remember, if you have a picture or some video that you aren’t sure whether it is real or not send it over to me at billschannel@gmail.com and I will take a look!

See you next time!
