Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire~!

Here be the last of the multiplayer mapses! The final run against Bowser is pretty darned hairy; LOTS of potential for mini-star loss!

Overall I feel that this Mario Party iteration is... okay. I'm not a huge fan of the straight-shot pathing and how we all move together. Not just because it's different, but in how it affects the overall play. It's still fun enough, though!

There's still another mode to explore in this game: Bowser Party! You can expect a couple of those soon enough!

Mario Party 10 continues the "Everyone moves together to get from point A to point B" style that Mario Party 9 heralded. I'll just say from the get-go that I am not a fan of this deviation from the more traditional board game style, but it isn't anything horrific. I guess they just wanted to try something new and didn't want their games lasting as long as, well... a board game.

Anyway collecting Mini Stars is the name of the game here. They're basically like the coins of earlier Mario Parties. You'll find them at various checkpoints throughout the board, by winning mini-games, and defeating bosses among other events! Whoever has the most at the end, wins! They'll also hand some bonus mini stars out at the end to mix things up a lil'.

There's items and stuffs too, and a few preseeded events, like bosses and whatever to just help the game feel all the more predictable. Eh. I'm just more a fan of things being more frenetic and spontaneous in Mario Party, is all. Still a good title to round up and rile up some friends with!

Oh! Almost forgot to mention! They made Bowser a continuous threat in this outing. He'll be locked up in a cage in the gamepad at the start of a board, but will break out if every die number is rolled and wreak all kinds of havoc, so watch out!

This was captured directly on the Wii U at 60 frames per second so you could see every moment of the action! I played with 3 other totally real humans, so know that our emotional well being and mental clarity were at stake! We still talk to each other after all this, so it probably means we haven't played enough Mario Party yet; expect to see some more down the line!
