600 Paladins vs 600 Elite War Wagons | Age of Empires II
The Paladin is a heavy cavalry unit in Age of Empires II that can be trained at the Stable once the Imperial Age is reached. Like most other cavalry, Paladins are very agile, though they cannot match the speed of Light Cavalry. They are effective for wiping out almost any unit in the game. However, they are susceptible to the weaknesses of all cavalry units, and should be used carefully to avoid mass death.
The War Wagon is the unique unit of the Koreans in Age of Empires II: The Conquerors. It is a cavalry archer with very high pierce armor and HP. It fires bolts like a Scorpion, but unlike the Scorpion, it does not deal blast damage.

General information and analysis of this battle (provided by Jennifer LePage - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIjqYiGUpzxMlfAIcZlwUOA)
Paladin costs 60 food and 75 gold per unit, 30 seconds to train from generic stables. 14 melee damage, 2 melee armour and 3 pierce. Upgrades in theory bring that to a maximum of 5 melee and 7 pierce if you have all blacksmith upgrades. HP is 160, 192 if you have bloodlines/play Franks.
Meanwhile, Elite War Wagons are 110 wood and 60 gold. They train in 21 seconds from a Korean Castle. 9 pierce damage firing 2.5 shots per second, 5 range, 4 pierce armor, 0 base melee armour, and 200 HP. Max damage is 13, max range is 8, max armour is 3 melee, 8 pierce, and their rate of fire gets a slight increase with Thumb Ring. Koreans don't get bloodlines though so don't count on that extra 20% HP.
All told at this point in Age of Empires history the war wagon has few hard counters and the ability to go toe to toe even with massed paladins, but their cost is enormous (haven't even mentioned the cost of their Elite upgrade) and they can only be created from castles, so unless you've got teammates and trade you probably won't be sustaining a large army for too long, especially if you're letting them take a lot of hits.
Paladins at this point have a lot of the same downsides. Their upgrade takes forever, is very expensive and rare with only a few civilizations even having access to it, and it's gotten way easier to counter paladins with other unuts over the years. They train from stables however, so they can be massed quicker, but anyone that's played or even watched a few 1v1s knows that nobody can keep up building them forever.
In summary, war wagons won for a reason, and they're restricted to one civ for a reason.
