The Houfnice is a unique upgrade of the Bombard Cannon for the Bohemians.

The research cost of the Houfnice upgrade is 950 food, 750 gold and takes 140 seconds to research. Compared with a regular Bombard Cannon, the Houfnice has +10 HP, +1 pierce armor, +15 melee damage, +0.35 tiles of blast radius (0.5 → 0.85), +15 bonus damage vs ships, stone defenses, and Hussite Wagons and +50 bonus damage vs buildings. Bohemians can also research the Wagenburg Tactics Castle Age unique technology to increase Houfnice movement speed by 15%.

Unlike most unique units, the Houfnice do not have an Elite version, as they are already a final unique upgrade.

The Heavy Scorpion is a light siege unit in Age of Empires II that can be trained at the Siege Workshop once the Imperial Age is reached. The Heavy Scorpion fires large arrow-like bolts. It is effective against groups of enemy units as the bolts cause damage to multiple units in a straight line. Unlike the Mangonel line, they do not damage friendly units. This can make all the difference in a pitched close quarters battle.
