From notes: "Fought Astaroth at end! Looks like old maps get reused. Fun. Got new weapon... Also writing is so dumb."

Here's a game from a VERY popular game series you may never have heard of! Heck, I never knew about it until I saw it on the shelf at a store a year ago! Soul Calibur Legends!
Turns out it's a weird 3rd-person "brawler" of sorts. It kinda plays a bit like a Dynasty Warriors-lite. You run into a room, beat on the enemies, maybe solve a little puzzle, and eventually end up fighting bossy things. The main cool thing is that you can swing the Wii Remote in various directions and at intervals to do different attacks! And I'll say it's actually VERY responsive. They did a great job! The bad part? You can basically "waggle" your way through fights and get almost the same result as trying to be cool and/or technical about it. It's still fun to play as your favorite (hopefully) Soul Calibur character and mow down the enemies!
Speaking of which, the main characters are Siegfried and Ivy. The story takes place between the first and second Soul Calibur games which explains why they are using Siegfried - this basically chronicles his descent into becoming Nightmare~! Ivy is there because she's the cover-booby-girl. I mean, she's badass, but that's why, you can be sure. A bunch of other mooks join you along the way so you'll never be lonely in your character selection! Weapons change/upgrade too! More damage for your waggle! Fun-fun!
Anyway, gonna be working through this title. It appears short, and it'll feed my interest in all things Calibur until the new game comes out. Enjoy~!

I'm capturing this footage from the Wii game disc being played on the Wii U in 720p so that YouTube will acknowledge the 60 fps capture rate as well. No special cropping, aspect ratio corrections, or any other filters are being employed.
