*UPDATE* The Nail Gun will repair/upgrade faster than the hammer because you can just hold down the button and it will keep upgrading. They both take 1 "use" to perform the operation, but the Nail Gun is faster. That is what I was testing, as to how much each tool needed to upgrade/repair once, not the total speed for a full upgrade/repair. In that instance, the Nail Gun wins. Thanks for the comments.
