$75 For Whoever Can Fix my PC!
19Junk needs help! Let's get stoned and fix my PC. I have a BIOS issue (I think). When I start up, it says "please wait" and brings me to the recovery screen, or to BIOS if I prompt it to. My options in both screens are limited, but I do have access to command prompt.
Details:
First person to provide a working solution to get me to my desktop, will get $75 USD, sent through Paypal, E-transfer if in Canada, or through crypto. I don't have cashapp or venmo, these are not available in Canada.
Description of problem, what I have tried, and what I suspect the problem may be:
- Windows 11, ACER Predator 3000 P03-630, rtx 3060i, i7 11700f, shitty mobo.
- I suspect an issue with the CMOS. I replaced the battery and it brought me to a window saying CMOS either failed from power, or checksum error. I did replace it, so latter seems more likely. When the CMOS connector is in the default 1-2 spot, my PC won't turn on at all. When it is on the 2-3 slot, or if it is taken off completely, I have the problems mentioned above. Before, my PC was running without it even on, as I have been having CMOS issues for a while. I took it off once, and from then on, my PC would refuse to power on unless I left it off, or put it in the 2-3 spot. 🤷♂️
- My C drive, which has Windows on it, has only 9mb on it I was able to determine through CMD prompt. Perhaps my issue has to do with this drive being virtually full.
-In BIOS, my boot order displays my C drive strangely. Sometimes slots 1-4 are ALL set to my C drive, and sometimes, the slot for the hard drive is blank, and once it was even a single Chinese character. Mostly, it displays normally.
- I have an extra internal SSD and an external drive, both have been removed.
- I may have PSU probelms as well. It is 500w, but I recently added a new cooler, more ram, an internal SSD, and run a lot of USB peripherals...
- It may also have to do with partitions, or drive letters mismatching... Or something like that. I don't even know.
- I do not care if my personal files are kept at this point. I don't have any important personal files on my C drive. I don't have a Windows recovery drive.
-System restore won't work for some reason, or repair from system Image. I don't even know if I have an image file on the PC. I can't find one from manual browsing, at least.
-Problem started when I shut down PC to add a low-noise adapter to my cooler. I since removed this, but the issue persists. I have, in the past, have had brief issues when starting Windows, that seemed CMOS related, but resolved themselves quickly.
-Any solution you have to either reset my Windows, fix my current Windows, and get me back onto my PC, you will get $75. If you don't know me, well, my community can vouch that I'm good for the money.
Perhaps I can use one of my external hard drive to load windows onto it, and get my pc to boot from that drive first. But I'd rather try other solutions before resorting to a clean install. I can get to an explorer file browser in the recovery screen, and Windows can still read all the data on my C drive, all my files are still there.
Really annoying issue. My drive being displayed as a Chinese character for a minute is kinda freaky. I hope it isn't drive damage or even worse, some vicious virus. I have never had virus problems before, other than the occasional malware picked up with Malwarebytes, most if which I am certain were false positives. Another theory, is the potential PSU issues and all my added devices may have been too much power, and that somehow led to drive damage. I am pretty noob when it comes to hardware, so I really have no idea!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
