7th Opening Day Start
The Minnesota Twins begin the new season at home with their Home Opener against their division rivals, the Kansas City Royals.
Even though the Minnesota Twins have no rivalry with the Kansas City Royals, fans hope that the upcoming MLB season will start something new. Back in the early 1990s, the Twins were in a stronger position than the Kansas City Royals having won the World Series in 1991. Things took a positive turn for the Royals when Dayton Moore brought his expertise to the mix. Over the last few years, the KC Royals have enjoyed their best run since the mid eighties. The Minnesota Twins haven’t done bad for themselves as well with six Central Division titles from 2002-2010.
Although they have the edge in head-to-head regular season, the Twins have won in one of their three Opening Day encounters against the Royals. This will be their chance thanks even it up with their 4th encounter on Opening Day.
