I have built one of the coolest 8'1/2" speakers out of cardboard and scraps.
This speaker is packing an overkill 25x20mm Rare Earth Neodymium Magnet.
This has a mid-range sound to it. That's between a woofer and a tweeter.

Built from:
Boxes, Neodymium Magnet, Scrap Copper Wire, Tube from Scott Towel Roll, Tube from food saver bag, Glue (Glue Gun), Popsicle Stick, Wire, Metal Strapping, Metal Plate.
