These are the batteries I used- http://www.himaxbattery.com/ni-mh-battery/hybrid-car-ev-battery/7-2v-replacement-nimh-honda-civic-insight-ima.html
The controller is a 48-72v eBay special and the motor is rated at 48v 500 watts. I had an guy who claimed to be an engineer tell me that the motor would burn up with the 72v controller and 72v lithium ion pack that I had installed when he saw it. It was my pleasure to inform him that I had been using that configuration and specific bike for maybe 2 years at the time. I wasn't sure if the controller or motor would be able to handle the 98v this time, but the windings are still intact, controller still functioning, and it didn't even pop the 30 amp inline breaker that I installed between the battery and controller. The battery pack is too large to fit safely on the bike, so I used a bike trailer to test it.
