9 Halo Infinite Features You Didn't See In The Demo
The Halo Infinite demo raised more questions than it answered, but we had a chance to chat with 343 about their aims, the upgrades, the open world map and which version of Master Chief we’d be seeing (the one who sprints). In this Halo Infinite gameplay breakdown we talk through their answers.

The first thing we learned was that this was Halo Infinite PC gameplay, showing how it will look on Xbox Series X. We’ve seen lots of people saying how Halo Infinite looks bad, and while we do worry that it is being held back by its need to run on Xbox One, the Halo Infinite gameplay evolution has us excited. The Halo Infinite open world map is an intriguing prospect, and one that 343 Industries explain more about: it sounds like it will blend the more traditional action of Halo with the open map area, but it isn’t going to be an open sandbox along the lines of Far Cry, for example. The Halo Infinite campaign is bigger than the previous two games combined, but we expect some traditional action in the mix.
One prominent Halo Infinite reaction is the negativity towards the Master Chief sprint - we asked the team about which version of Master Chief they are giving us, and they explained how they are wrestling with many different audiences. They also explained the role of the brutes and The Banished, and how enemy AI can turn all Halo Infinite weapons against you. Sounds tough. We’ll probably share our own Halo Infinite impressions next week - it’s hard to know how to read this world without being able to explore it ourselves. I like the sound of Halo Infinite upgrades - rewarding exploration with new gadgets and weapons, for example - but am intrigued how they will balance freedom and more focused combat. It’s crazy that we will be playing this in less than a year.
