“Production Paused - The Future of PlayStation REVEALED!

Sony’s PSVR2 headset is suffering in a market that’s still trying to perfect VR technology – and there’s some stiff competition coming into play. There are expectations that the VR market will grow in the coming years, but PSVR2 is lagging somewhat.

“The high price of VR hardware acts as the main hurdle for its expansion. Currently, there are limited games that support VR devices, and that will also lead to lack of motivation for players to purchase VR hardware. This limited content also has a reason – the development cost for VR games is substantially higher than normal titles.”

It’s certainly a high price point that’s blocking access to VR technology for most users. Apple’s recent launch of the Apple Vision Pro headset was scoffed at by consumers when it was revealed that the device came with a price tag of $3499. It’s far beyond the $550 price tag associated with PSVR2, but that’s more than the cost of a brand-new PlayStation 5 console, which makes consumers shaky at the knees in most cases.

According to the latest sales report from Famitsu, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth sales in Japan fell to 24,482 copies for the week of March 4th to March 10th.

The game’s total sales now sit at 287,138 in its second week after release. It previously held first place, selling 262,656 copies throughout its launch week.

This may surprise fans, since critics and players alike gave Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth very strong reviews. However, the numbers actually fall in line with the series’ previous releases in Japan.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched on February 29th for PlayStation 5, and it’s also currently a “Metacritic Must-Play” title. The demo alone, released earlier that month, also gained positive reactions.

I’m pretty sure the last sliver of reasoned decision-making I’m capable of just squirmed out of my skull forever. Even by my RTX 4090-splurging standards, paying close to 500 Big Boys for a Gen5 NVMe Solid State Drive is extreme. Yet here we are.

I’m not seriously suggesting you fork out for the $472 4TB model I just blew an unreasonable amount of my wages on. Yet I_ am_ comfortable recommending a more affordable version of what is a truly incredible drive.

I'd still argue an NVMe drive that’s capable of hitting read speeds of up to 11,700MBps is the best form of future-proofing possible if you’re passionate about ultra quick 4K video file transfers or want to slice load times in the best PS5 games to an even more absurdly rapid degree.

While Crucial claims my 4TB T700 can hit read speeds of 12,400MBps, the fastest real-world testing result I’ve managed to produce is a “mere” reading of 10,564MBps. Shocking, I know.
