#969 Fighting Vipers 2 (ARC) Bosses (2/3): Kuhn gameplay.
Gameplay of the hidden boss and hidden character Kuhn in the arcade version of Sega’s Fighting Vipers 2.
Kuhn is basically a male Dural. He’s a hidden boss, and a time-released character in the game. The pre-requisites for getting to him are a bit tedious, but it’s cool to have three very different bosses in one game. This was actually of the very first arcade games I played when I moved to Dubai, so needless to say it’s pretty damn special to me. The machine I played on already had Del Sol and Kuhn unlocked, and it’s something which always kept with me.

Kuhn himself, move-wise, seems to utilise a combination of the Vipers’ moves, as well as ones from Virtua Fighter as well. For instance, he has Akira’s b, f +P+K move from Virtua Fighter 3, though oddly here it’s performed as b, f, f+P+K, which is actually the input for Akira’s back charge attack. Kuhn has a few decent combos, and one particularly noteworthy move in the form of an uppercut which can knock the opponent up and over the ring on a final strike, but otherwise it’s not dramatically interesting. Indeed, he’s meant to be more of a bonus character than anything else, and I think he’s a decent one on the whole. I gave up on BM as he is one of the single most tedious bosses in existence; it’s only by chance that I ever even win against him.
Up next, the last of the bosses to re-cover.
