1With urgency, we look for a golden owl medal under the sea, a seal of the old Emperor of the old Ronka empire. The warrior descendants of Ronka let us inside their village, and once its authenticity had been proven, they opted to help us find the LightWarden. That said, the LightWarden had not been seen in thirty years. The only lead we've gotten is the Rak'tika falls. There is no real way to get there now, except for maybe the Qitana Ravel, a temple that hadn't been opened for centuries.
We go with Y'Shtola to open this temple and solve some puzzles, only to be assaulted by Ran'Jit. But we really need to activate the Heart of Toupasa to disable the mechanisms attacking us and perhaps open the way to Rak'tika falls. The warrior held back Ran'jit, but after we successfully activated the heart, he jumped towards and to fight. His dumb lieutenant foolishly stumbled onto a trap causing most of the floor to collapse, trapping us close to the edge.
The Lieutenant attempted to bribe for cooperation with the antidote to the special poison injected in many villagers. Ran'jit did not accept this and kicked the Lieutenant off with the antidote, causing Y'shtola to jump after him, take the antidote, and throw it back at us. Urianger and Thancred came to help, Urianger pulling Ranjit towards the two and Thancred jumping above him to kick him down into the pit with his gunblade.
With the antidote, we can save villagers a plenty, but Y'shtola's life potentially being lost is a huge blow. Emet-Selch suddenly shows up, saying that perhaps a clear act of kindness from him might win us some trust for him. Y'shtola had once again used the spell that sends her into the lifestream. We can summon her back from it once more. Emet-Selch has the ability to sense the Lifestream and can return Y'shola to us, which he does.
Everything else becomes a bit simple. We go through an old temple to Rak'tika falls and slay another Lightwarden. On our way back Emet-Selch talks about some murals in a cave we had investigated before. We ask him if he knew what they meant. That is when he reveals, he and the acians were the suvivors of the calamity that split the original creating thirteen shards.
Long ago, in the original world, only peace and prosperity were known until a great disaster struck that had people pray and sacrifice until a god had materialized, Zodiark. Many saw Zodiark as a savior, others thought differently. From their fears came Hydaelyn, whose first purpose was to chain and seal Zodiark. Their fights escalated until Hydaelyn struck a finishing blow that has divided Zodiark into pieces, causing the great split of worlds. Emet-Selch not only reveals this, but also clearly states that yet, both Zodiark and Hydaelyn are the eldest and most powerful primals.
The ultimate goal of the Ascians are to return every shard back to the source to return the Source back to their original world.
