For our sixth A & C Let's Play, we decided to play Double Dragon II The Revenge for the Famicom. While the game appears to be identical to its NES counterpart, the original Japanese version allows the player(s) to beat the game on any difficulty setting.

In the NES version, the true ending can only be seen while playing on Supreme Master mode, a.k.a. the hardest difficulty level. There are also no continues in the North American version.

The Japanese version on the other hand, offers an unlimited supply of continues, but has visibly increased the challenge while playing on Difficult mode, as the enemies take a LOT more damage!

Gar and I opted to play through the Famicom version on Difficult mode to give us the greatest possible challenge. Our goal was to hopefully beat it without dying, but that was probably asking for too much without any practice beforehand :).

We ended up pulling off a no continue run instead, which was still pretty sweet, especially with the way that we finished off the last boss :).
