WotC actually did it! The ban announcement last week hit such a wide swath of cards that Standard seems wide open for new brews to make an appearance! The severe nerfing of the monstrous/mouse decks means other aggro decks like my Temur Cactuar deck from a couple of weeks ago might have a chance to shine! Cactuar is a 3/3 Trample for 1! Yes, it has some severe downside, but giving our cactus buddy haste with cards like Summon: Brynhildr, Break Out and Frostcliff Siege does a lot to mitigate it and really leverage the body for mana value ratio! This trick is what our deck is all about, as our creature curve now stops at 2! We're loaded up on 1 and 2 mana 3/3's with upside! We'll flood the board with these weenies and use cheap removal and interaction to get in enough attacks and protect the crew long enough to win! Floodpits Drowner is the new addition that really made me want to play this deck again. With the ability to control my opponents' blocks with the creatures that might be able to blunt my spiky assault, our path the getting in 6-7 attackers over the course of a game has never been easier! Temur colors give us all the tools we need to carry out our aggro, tempo plan and a little bit of burn to close things out. It's a very fun deck to play!
